Why tone?

Toning is a quick step that does a lot of quiet work. It removes the last bit of cleanser or makeup that rinsing can miss, adds a layer of hydration, and leaves skin slightly damp, which helps the moisturizer that follows spread evenly and absorb well. With Environ's vitamin A moisturizers, that well-prepped skin is exactly what you want.

How to use

After pre-cleansing and cleansing, soak a cotton pad and sweep over face and neck. Follow with your recommended Environ vitamin A moisturizer. Use morning and/or evening.

Your Environ routine

Pre-cleanse → cleanse → tone → vitamin A moisturizer → sunscreen in the morning.

Building your routine

1. Pre-cleanse with Dual Action Pre-Cleansing Oil.
2. Cleanse with Mild Cleansing Lotion, or Low Foam Cleansing Gel if you prefer a gel.
3. Tone with Botanical Infused Moisturising Toner.
4. Moisturize with your vitamin A moisturizer, starting with Vita-Antioxidant AVST Moisturiser 1.

In the morning, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

A note on the Vitamin STEP-UP SYSTEM™

This toner pairs with every level of Environ's AVST Moisturisers, from AVST 1 through AVST 5. Most people use each level for about 2 to 3 bottles before stepping up, and your toner stays the same the whole way through.

Esthetician tip

Apply your moisturizer while your skin is still slightly damp from the toner. It helps your vitamin A moisturizer spread evenly and feel more comfortable, especially when you've just stepped up to a new AVST level.

Toner is also a nice moment to check in with your skin. If it suddenly stings or feels tight, that's a sign to slow down on active products and let us know.
