Colorescience Barrier Pro™ 1-Step Cleanser is formulated to remove makeup and mineral sunscreen in a single step, so there's no need to double cleanse. A multi-benefit, skin barrier-boosting solution, this more-than-a-cleanser helps support the skin's microbiome and promotes gentle exfoliation for a softer, smoother skin texture without harsh ingredients.
This fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, patent-pending formula lightly lathers and rinses clean without leaving skin feeling stripped. Skin is left refreshed, hydrated, and replenished.

Who it's for
All skin types, and especially anyone who wears mineral sunscreen or makeup every day and is tired of a two-step cleanse. We love it for sensitive, redness-prone, and barrier-compromised skin, and for clients using retinoids or exfoliating acids who need a cleanser that won't add to dryness or irritation.

How to use
Morning or makeup-free days: Wet your face, apply 1 pump to wet hands, cleanse for about one minute, and rinse thoroughly.
Evening, with makeup or sunscreen: Apply 2 to 3 pumps to your hands and massage over dry skin to break down makeup and sunscreen. Add a little water to emulsify, continue cleansing for about one minute, then rinse.

Massage for a full minute. That time is what lets the cleanser dissolve sunscreen and makeup completely, especially around the hairline and jaw where mineral SPF tends to linger. Ask us at your next appointment about building a full Barrier Pro routine.
Do I really not need to double cleanse?
That's what it's made for. It's designed to remove mineral sunscreen and makeup in one step. If you wear very heavy or waterproof makeup, you may still like to go over the eyes a second time.
Is it gentle enough for sensitive skin?
Yes. It's fragrance-free and made without harsh ingredients, which is why we like it for sensitive and redness-prone clients. If your skin is extremely reactive, patch test first.
Does the gentle exfoliation mean I should skip my other exfoliants?
Not necessarily. The exfoliation is mild. If you're using strong acids or retinoids and your skin feels tender, let us know and we'll adjust your routine.
Can I use it twice a day?
Yes. Use a single pump in the morning and a little more in the evening to remove sunscreen and makeup.
Can I use it after a facial or peel?
A gentle, fragrance-free cleanser is usually a good choice after treatments, but always follow the aftercare we give you for your specific service.
