Environ Alpha Hydroxy Derma-Lac Lotion is a light, easy-to-apply body lotion with several excellent moisturizers, including lactic acid, urea, and ammonium lactate. With regular use, it helps improve the look of both skin texture and tone, leaving skin soft and smooth.

Why lactic acid and urea work so well on the body
Body skin is thicker than facial skin, and areas like elbows, knees, heels, and the backs of the arms tend to build up layers of dry, dead cells. Lactic acid loosens the bonds between those cells so they shed more evenly, while urea and ammonium lactate attract and hold water in the skin. The result is exfoliation and hydration in a single step, which is why this lotion can make rough patches feel noticeably softer without any scrubbing.

How to use
Apply to clean skin on the body, massaging until absorbed. Use daily. For the best results, pair with Environ Vitamin A, C & E Body Oil.
Important: AHAs can increase sun sensitivity. Use sunscreen on exposed areas.
Building your routine
A simple body routine with Derma-Lac looks like this:
- Cleanse in a warm (not hot) shower and pat skin mostly dry.
- Prep (optional) with the Cosmetic Body Roll-CIT® on clean, dry skin to help your body products absorb.
- Treat and hydrate by mixing Derma-Lac Lotion with a few drops of Vitamin A, C & E Body Oil in your palm and massaging it in.
- Target areas where you want a firmer, smoother look with Tri-Complex Contouring Cream Kit.
On exposed areas during the day, finish with sunscreen.
Esthetician tip
Apply your body lotion within a few minutes of stepping out of the shower, while skin is still slightly damp. It locks in water and makes a big difference on dry winter skin in Ohio.
How long until I notice a difference?
Most people feel softer skin within the first week of daily use. Visible improvements in rough, bumpy texture and uneven tone build over several weeks as the skin renews itself.
Can I use it right after shaving?
Lactic acid can tingle on freshly shaved or broken skin. If that bothers you, shave at night and apply the lotion the next morning, or wait until the skin has settled.
Can I use it on my face?
This lotion is formulated for the body. For the face, Environ makes dedicated options, such as Alpha Hydroxy Night Cream. Ask us which facial products suit your skin.
Is it okay for sensitive skin?
Lactic acid is one of the gentler AHAs, but start with a small area if your skin is reactive and build up to daily use.
Can I use it while pregnant or nursing?
Please check with your healthcare provider before starting any new skincare during pregnancy or nursing.
