Theraderm NuPeel is a peptide-based, antioxidant-rich gel that uses botanical enzymes extracted from papaya to gently exfoliate dead skin cells. Infused with pineapple, grape seed, green tea leaf, and cucumber extracts, NuPeel also calms and nourishes. The result is smooth, radiant skin.
Why enzyme exfoliation?
Fruit enzymes like papain (from papaya) and bromelain (from pineapple) work by loosening the dead, dull cells that sit on the surface of the skin, rather than dissolving them with acid or scrubbing them away with grains. That makes enzyme exfoliation one of the gentlest ways to refresh the complexion. It is a favorite for people who find acids too strong or scrubs too rough, and it is a common step in professional facials before extractions, masks, or peels.

Who it's for
NuPeel suits most skin types, including dry, dull, mature, and sensitive skin that does not tolerate stronger exfoliants well. It is also a nice option for anyone who wants a quick at-home refresh between professional facials or dermaplaning appointments.

How to use
Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin and gently massage. Let the enzymes do the work, then remove thoroughly with warm water or a warm, damp cloth and follow with the rest of your routine. Start with once or twice a week and adjust based on how your skin responds. Avoid the eye area, and always follow the directions on your package. In the studio we also use enzyme exfoliation as part of our facial and dermaplaning treatments.
Building your routine
- Cleanse with a gentle cleanser like Ultra Gentle Cleanser.
- Exfoliate with Theraderm NuPeel one to two times a week.
- Hydrate and treat with a peptide moisturizer such as Cran Peptide Cream, and extend care to the neck with Theraderm Flawless Neck Crème.
- Protect every morning with a broad-spectrum sunscreen like Daily SPF 30 Lotion.
Esthetician tip
Exfoliation makes skin more receptive, so follow NuPeel with a hydrating serum or moisturizer right away and never skip sunscreen the next morning. Not sure how NuPeel fits with your current routine? Ask us at your next appointment.
How often should I use NuPeel?
Most people do well with one to two times a week. If your skin feels tight or pink afterward, space it out. If it feels great, you can stay at that pace. More is not always better with exfoliation.
Will it sting?
Enzyme exfoliants are generally among the most comfortable options. A mild warmth or tingle can happen, but stinging or burning is a sign to rinse it off and check in with us.
Is it okay for sensitive skin?
Enzymes are usually better tolerated than acids or scrubs, which is why we like them for sensitive skin. Patch test on a small area first if you are prone to reactions, and avoid broken or freshly irritated skin.
Can I use it with retinol or acids?
Yes, but not on the same night at first. Exfoliating on top of a retinoid or acid can over-dry the skin. Alternate nights, and ask us to help you schedule your actives.
Can I use it before an event?
It is a nice way to get a fresh, smooth canvas for makeup. Try it at least once before the big day so you know how your skin responds.
Can I use it while pregnant or nursing?
Please check with your healthcare provider before starting any new skincare during pregnancy or nursing.
