Physical vs. enzyme exfoliation

Physical exfoliants like Refine use fine particles to buff away dead skin, which feels satisfying and works quickly on dull, congested skin. Enzyme exfoliants dissolve dead skin without scrubbing and are a gentler option for sensitive skin. Many routines include both, used on different days.

How to use

Massage onto clean, damp skin in circular motions over the face and neck. Rinse well with warm water. Use once or twice a week.

Building your routine

Use Refine once or twice a week in place of your regular cleanser:

1. Pre-cleanse. Remove makeup and sunscreen with Purify Botanic Cleansing Oil.
2. Polish. Massage Refine onto damp skin in gentle circles, then rinse well.
3. Tone. Mist with Bright Facial Mist to refine and brighten.
4. Moisturize. Finish with Balance Charcoal Moisturizer or Protect Antioxidant Moisturizer.

In the morning, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen such as Ultra Zinc Body & Face Non-tinted SPF 40.

Esthetician tip

Use Refine the evening before an event or a makeup application for the smoothest canvas. Freshly polished skin also absorbs serums and moisturizer well, so follow right away with hydration.
