A cooling gel version of Environ's entry-level vitamin A moisturizer
Environ Vita-Antioxidant AVST Gel is a lightweight, water-based gel moisturizer with a low concentration of vitamin A (retinyl palmitate), vitamin C, and antioxidants. It's the gel alternative to AVST Moisturiser 1, the first level of Environ's Vitamin STEP-UP SYSTEM™, with a cooling, soothing texture that feels weightless on the skin.

Who it's for
Anyone starting Environ who prefers a light gel over a cream, especially oily, combination, or warm skin, and anyone who wants a cooling, soothing feel. It can also be layered under other Environ moisturizers for extra hydration.
Gel or cream: which level 1 is right for you?
Both AVST Gel and Vita-Antioxidant AVST Moisturiser 1 sit at the first level of the Vitamin STEP-UP SYSTEM™, with a low concentration of vitamin A, vitamin C, and antioxidants. The difference is texture. The cream feels more nourishing and suits normal to dry skin. The gel is water-based, cooling, and weightless, so it's often the better choice for oily or combination skin, warm climates, and summer months. Either one is a great foundation before you step up to AVST Moisturiser 2.
How the AVST levels compare
- Level 1 (Vita-Antioxidant AVST Moisturiser 1 or Vita-Antioxidant AVST Gel): low vitamin A, the gentle starting point.
- Level 2 (AVST Moisturiser 2): medium vitamin A, building on level 1.
- Level 3 (AVST Moisturiser 3): moderately high vitamin A, and the first level to add a peptide.
- Level 4 (AVST Moisturiser 4): high vitamin A for visible signs of aging and sun damage.
- Level 5 (AVST Moisturiser 5): the highest vitamin A in the AVST range, used to maintain results.
Beyond AVST, the premium Youth EssentiA® serums follow their own step-up path, from C-Quence Serum 1 through C-Quence Serum 4 and on to Vita-Peptide Intensive Serum 4 Plus.

How to use
After cleansing and toning, massage into face and neck morning and evening. Use at least 2 to 3 bottles before moving up to AVST Moisturiser 2.

Building your routine
A complete Environ morning and evening routine at this level looks like this:
- Pre-cleanse in the evening with Dual Action Pre-Cleansing Oil to lift makeup and sunscreen.
- Cleanse with Mild Cleansing Lotion, a gentle lotion cleanser that won't strip the skin.
- Tone with Botanical Infused Moisturising Toner to remove any residue and prep the skin.
- Treat and moisturize with AVST Gel on face, neck, and décolleté.
- Protect every morning with a broad-spectrum sunscreen such as Sunforgettable® Total Protection™ Face Shield Flex SPF 50.
If your skin needs extra comfort while adjusting, layer Vita-Enriched Colostrum Gel underneath.
How long until I see results?
Many clients notice softer, more hydrated skin within the first few weeks. Changes in tone, fine lines, and overall skin health build steadily over the 2 to 3 bottles you spend at this level.
Can I layer it under a cream?
Yes. The gel can be layered under other Environ moisturizers for extra hydration, which is helpful in drier months.
When should I step up to AVST 2?
After at least 2 to 3 bottles, once your skin feels comfortable with no ongoing sensitivity. We're happy to check in and help you decide.
Is it normal for my skin to tingle or flake?
When skin is getting used to more vitamin A, some people notice mild tingling, dryness, or flaking for a short time. That's a sign your skin is adjusting. If it's uncomfortable, use a little less for a few days and add a hydrating booster. If it doesn't settle, let us know.
Can I use it morning and evening?
Yes. Environ's AVST moisturizers are designed for twice-daily use, always followed by sunscreen during the day.
Can I use it while pregnant or nursing?
Please check with your healthcare provider before starting or continuing any vitamin A or other active skincare during pregnancy or nursing.
