Prince Reign Ingrown Hair Serum pairs a gentle exfoliating formula with soothing moisturizers to help with ingrown hairs and the bumps that follow shaving and waxing, for the kind of smooth, even-looking skin you'll want to show off. How it works
Most ingrown hairs happen when a hair curls back or gets trapped under a layer of dead skin as it grows out after shaving or waxing. The brand's formula is built around glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that loosens the dead skin cells sitting on top of the follicle so new hairs can grow out freely. Lavender, sage and chamomile extracts are included to comfort skin that's been freshly shaved or waxed.
Who it's for
Anyone who shaves or waxes and gets ingrown hairs or razor bumps, on the face, neck, underarms, legs or bikini line. It's a great fit for our regular bikini and Brazilian waxing clients, and for men who get bumps along the beard line.
How to use
Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin in the areas where you get ingrown hairs, once or twice a day. Don't rinse it off. After waxing, wait until the day after your service before applying it, and avoid using it on broken, raw or irritated skin.
Important: AHAs like glycolic acid can increase sun sensitivity, so use sunscreen on any areas that will be exposed to the sun.
Building your routine
For the smoothest results between waxing appointments:
- Soothe right after your service with Bare Post Wax Treatment Oil.
- Exfoliate gently two or three times a week, starting a couple of days after waxing, with Exfoliating Mitts or a dry brush.
- Treat daily with Prince Reign Ingrown Hair Serum on areas prone to bumps.
Esthetician tip
Never pick or tweeze an ingrown hair; that can lead to dark marks and scarring. Consistent waxing on a regular schedule, gentle exfoliation and a daily serum like this one is the combination we see work best. If you're dealing with stubborn bumps, ask us at your next wax appointment.
How soon will I see a difference?
The brand says many people notice a change within 1–2 days. Dark marks left by old bumps fade more slowly, so expect to use it consistently for several weeks for those.
Can I use it right after waxing?
We recommend waiting until the next day. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive, and an exfoliating serum can sting on the same day. Use a soothing post-wax product first.
Can I use it on my face?
Yes, it can be used on the face and beard area. Avoid the eye area and don't layer it with other strong exfoliants or retinoids on the same spot without checking with us.
Is it okay for sensitive skin?
The formula is made to be gentle and is free of alcohol, parabens and sulfates. Because it contains an AHA, we still suggest patch-testing a small area first.
Can I use it while pregnant or nursing?
Please check with your healthcare provider before starting new skincare products during pregnancy or nursing.
